El Tanque, Garachico e Icod de los Vinos

The road between El Tanque and Santiago del Teide passes through the villages of Ruigómez and Erjos, set in beautiful natural landscape.

After Erjos, there is a road branching off to the village of San José de Los Llanos, one of the highest villages on the island of Tenerife. The village is close to the pine forests that cover the mountain slopes of the north of the island.

From there, you can continue on to the little hamlet of San Francisco de la Montañeta, in the neighbouring borough of Garachico, in an area in which the beautiful pine forests give way to arable land.

You can branch off this road to the recreation area and camp site of Arenas Negras, at the foot of Montaña Quemada.

Another way to reach La Montañeta is to take the road from the hamlet of El Amparo, near Icod, passing through La Vega.
